People who suffer from heartburn will normally experience chest pains that usually begin at the breastbone and rises up into the neck and throat you may also experience a burning sensation at the same time. You may also experience the horrible sensation of liquids or food coming back up into your throat or mouth. Most people describe a bitter or sour taste in their mouth when they have heartburn, then there are others who experience an increased pain in the chest, especially when bending forward or lying down.
There are quite a few causes for heartburn or acid reflux, which are a trigger for this uncomfortable chest pain. most of the people who have this problem say that the cause for their heartburn is normally linked to certain food or drink they have. Tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks cause the LES to relax (lower esophageal sphincter), that is responsible for keeping stomach acid out of the esophagus. When the LES relaxes, stomach acid
pushes back into your esophagus, making it more likely to trigger a heartburn attach.
It is also known that Chocolate, citrus fruits and vegetables, tomatoes, tomato-based products and alcoholic beverages can be main causes for heartburn because as they also relax the LES, stops it from functioning normally. On the other hand, eating fatty foods and tobacco smoking can weaken the LES and increase the pressure on your stomach, causing the reflux of stomach acid into your esophagus.
